I like the phrase 'leaders are readers' - having led varous teams, a business or two and, most importantly working hard every day to lead himself (some days I'm great at that and some days I'm not, but I don't beat myself up about it - I can only change what's ahead of me).

In the past three years I've spent 155 days learning - reading, listening to audio programs or attending seminars, events or training outside of the remit of my day job (my day job is a technical product manager at Microsoft in the UK where I've been for lots of years generally having a great time).  I often find myself recommending books/programs to friends and collegues - and that was the original spark that led to SuccessMaven.com.
